5 questions with...Kieran Crisp

Describe your role at Booking.com.

My team and I are responsible for managing and implementing all internal AV (audio visual) and collaborative applications used in our offices all around the world.

What is your favourite part about the Manchester campus?

I may be biased, but I love the technology we are able to implement in the Manchester Campus with hybrid working in mind. The world has had to adapt to a flexible working environment and with my colleagues in Manchester, Amsterdam, and all over the world, I can connect to them with industry leading tech almost anywhere in the campus.

You started your career in customer service and then moved into engineering. What advice would you give to someone who is looking to start a career in tech?

Take every opportunity to learn. At Booking.com, there are so many opportunities to find out more about other areas of the business you are interested in and move towards a field you are passionate about. Our Learning & Development department here is world class.

Which of our 5 key values do you most relate to and can you share an example?

Own It – I had the opportunity to plan and implement the Manchester Campus AV, a project unlike anything else I have ever been part of. After 3 years, aligning with contractors, real estate, IT infrastructure and key stakeholders, I am so proud to have been a part of bringing one of the best office spaces in the UK into fruition.

Learn Forever – As I mentioned, the opportunity to learn and grow here is like nowhere I have worked before. Booking.com invests in their people and we have so many opportunities to continue our learning through online platforms, attending events and more.

What is one way that you’re helping to make it easier for everyone to experience the world?

From video conferencing in meeting rooms to live streaming large hybrid events in our auditorium, my aim is to empower our employees at Booking.com to collaborate and get their best work done so they can create the best possible experience for our customers.
