5 questions with...Roky Lu

Please tell us about your role as a Senior Account Manager - Partnerships at Booking.com.

As a Senior Account Manager, I manage the relationship and communication with partners, discussing topics such as performance optimisation and new business development. We then work to implement the plans together. My team is mainly responsible for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) verticals, specifically smartphone producers. These producers help the Booking.com app acquire users and business through ads.

What is your favourite thing about our Singapore office and why?

My favourite thing about our Singapore office is the lounging area. I and a few colleagues will take a quick 15-minute nap after lunch or enjoy the lounge chairs with a great view of the sea. Doing this refreshes me and gives me energy for work after lunch.

Which of our 5 values at Booking.com do you relate to the most and why?

The value I relate to the most is ‘Own it.’ This helps make our team objective statement clear and empowers us to complete our goals driven by our passion and responsibility. As a result, last year, I signed new partners for the business.

How are you helping to make it easier for everyone to experience the world?

The Booking.com platform does indeed make travelling easier. I work with my partners to introduce the Booking.com app to millions of users every year. I also help to see which product offerings are the best options for our partners to help grow their business.

As someone who relocated to Singapore, why should someone choose this location to live and work?

Singapore is a clean, safe and efficient city. While it may not be as big as other cities like Shanghai, Tokyo or Taipei, it is the central point amongst Southeast Asia, North Asia and Oceania. It’s easy to explore many of the surrounding countries via short flights and it’s a great place to work and live while connecting you to the rest of Asia.
