Our people’s perspectives

During the programme, I worked in a back-end team that prices a taxi ride. I gained invaluable insights into software development, writing and releasing code, and building and maintaining services. As a career changer, I was initially nervous; however, my team supported me in learning new technical skills and praised the ideas and soft skills that I had. The whole experience has been life-changing for me, and I am very excited for my career ahead!

Trips

I currently work as a back-end software engineer as part of our Insurance vertical. During my apprenticeship, I have had the opportunity to work on serverless architecture, contributing to various event-based systems and deploying Lambda functions in AWS. The apprenticeship has allowed me to grow in a challenging and fast-paced environment, where I've balanced my college studies alongside hands-on work within the team. Throughout this journey, I've been fortunate to have support from a dedicated mentor and various engineers on my team. Their expertise and encouragement have been crucial to my development. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue developing my skills and contributing to the company's success as I advance in my career.

During my apprenticeship, I had the benefit of working on modernising the cars' front-end experience. This required a deeper level of understanding, in which my team supported me profoundly, offering me both technical and other (UX/Product) experiences that enriched my learning and improved my skills as a developer.
